Do you leave your BAS until the last minute, and then decide to give it to your accountant to lodge because you can get an extra extension of a couple of weeks? Takes the pressure off, doesn’t it? You can sit down tonight and have a glass of wine instead of doing your bookkeeping. Your December quarter BAS should have a due date of 28th February. Don’t spend the next month relaxing and thinking you have until the end of March to get your MYOB file to your accountant. There is no further extension on this one. 28th February is the final date!! So if you haven’t been working on your BAS, now is the time to get started. And remember, if you send your MYOB file to your accountant for them to prepare and lodge your BAS, don’t leave it until 27th Feburary to send them your file, thinking “Just scraped in!!” Your accountant will need time to go through your file and prepare your BAS, so send your file to them as soon as you can.
